I'm just chilling, watching some football, sitting back in my phat Bumbo chair, holding my head up all by myself.  

Mavis at 3 months

Can you believe how big Mavis is now!?! She's nearly 3months old now. I love to compare this picture to the one taken August 14th, where she's yelling "wake up smiley" at her bear who was then bigger than her. How things change. 

While some have commented, upon seeing this picture, that the cow costume is on the wrong person, what's really important is that you check out that cute tail. 

Mavis doesn't quite understand Halloween yet, she didn't believe her daddy as he was explaining how you get all that free candy. Of course, she doesn't understand candy yet either.

Mavis' first Halloween, look how happy she is to be a calf. 

The babies LOVE Carrie Contey. We had a wonderful dinner Friday night, a reunion of our prenatal parenting class. From left to right: Mavis, 12 weeks; Loretta, 10 weeks; Ellie, 5 weeks. Hmmm.... 

Weeble wobbles wobble but they don't fall down; down onto the quilt Mavis' grandma had made for her, with her name on it, as someone's finger is pointing out in the photo.

Mavis recently met her 93 year old great grandmother Nadine; as you can see, they were very formal & shook hands. 

Finally, Loretta decided she'd had enough & was ready to go. "But Please stay" Mavis pleaded. Loretta agreed to come by another day. 

Loretta came by to see Mavis the other day, Mavis was so happy to see her she just wouldn't stop talking. Loretta couldn't get a word in edgewise.  

Mavis LOVES her kick-n-play seat. She was really going for it this morning. Last week she went to the dr. & weighed 11 pounds, 9 oz & was 23.25 inches tall. She also got 3 vaccinations, which surprisingly she did not enjoy at all. I haven't told her yet she has many more of those to come. 

University of Texas versus University of Oklahoma 2005

Dad and Mavis are very upset about OU's loss to Texas. Mavis knows she'll never hear the end of it from all these Longhorn babies around here. 

Here's Mavis modeling a very cute dress that her Great-Grandmother Nadine sent to her. 

Mavis & Grandma Barb were equally surprised by each other. 

Bopa (Cara's dad) & Barb were in town last week to meet Mavis, their 9th grandchild. Bopa held Mavis on his lap & told her all about the time he got kicked out of Luckenbach, after buying his shirt. 

Here's Mavis chilling with Patty Sprinkle, her wonderful midwife who helped bring her into this world. Mavis really responds well to Patty's voice, smiling at her lots today during her appointment, much to mom's jealousy. 

On Wednesday, Mavis had her 6 week check up with Patty. Mavis weighed in at an impressive 10 & 1/2 pounds, so she's gained 50% of her birthweight. Maybe in part due to her wonderful Roswell, NM onsie.

Mavis loves Neil Diamond, sing her "Cherry, Cherry" & she'll start dancing. Or at least I think that's what she's doing as she flails her arms around. This is one of the great outfits Grandma & Aunt Myrna got her, it's very cute. Also, amazing to see how she fits in this pillow now, compared to the earlier picture of "Regal Mavis".

Mavis is 5 weeks old today and it shows. She notices colorful objects, rattles & lights now. She LOVES music of all kinds, from mom's bad singing to bluegrass to loud distorted rock. She can hold that heavy head up for longer periods and is getting better control over her arms. She talks to herself more & has very distinct (& loud) cries for anger and frustration. I guess you'd say she's all grown up. 

This is Mavis' second favorite place to sleep, if Grandpa is unavailable. She is now 4 1/2 weeks, weighs 9 pounds !!! and has grown 2 3/4 inches.  

Mavis at 3 1/2 weeks, loves her a bath. Needs a rubber ducky. 

Mavis met Grandpa a few hours ago. They are getting along great. So far, they have discovered that they both really enjoy napping.
